Records Manager - Inside IR35
Contract Term: 6 months

Location: Hybrid - Manchester 2-3 days per week
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is the territorial police force responsible for law enforcement within the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester in North-West England. GMP employs almost 7,500 officers, PCSOs and Special Constables together with just over 3,500 police staff making GMP the second biggest police force in England and Wales.
GMP are replacing their Records Management System (RMS). An RMS is the system on which police forces manage cases through to completion and maintain records of all the people, objects, locations, and events that the force has interacted with. The RMS will join that data to paint a rich picture that GMP's officers can use to mitigate risk and protect the citizens of Greater Manchester.
We're looking for someone with a specific records management background to lead in the technical design of a SharePoint Online solution. Someone who has practical experience of setting up both document libraries and records libraries in SharePoint Online, and/or theoretical records management or archiving expertise so they can interpret our retention and disposal schedules/policies and apply them practically in the SharePoint environment to make sure our new system complies with records management standards.
As a Records Manager your main responsibilities would be:
- Leading in technical design of a SharePoint Online solution.
- Interpreting our retention and disposal schedules/policies and applying them practically in the SharePoint environment to make sure our new system complies with records management standards.
Essential:
- Demonstratable experience of working with SharePoint Online.
- Records Management experience.
- Document Lifecycle Management experience.
- Experience of managing large scale projects.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a Policing environment.
- Experience of ShareGate.
- Business Analysis experience.
