Supply Chain Co-ordinator (Contract)

Location: Filton Country: UK Rate: £20 - £26 per hour

A global pioneer firm in the defense and nuclear industry based in Portsmouth is urgently looking for a Procurement - Supply Officer to join its Supply Chain and procurement team.

In compliance with client requirements, you will keep an eye on the timely and accurate delivery of the appropriate part to the appropriate location at the appropriate quantity. Additionally, you will oversee and manage purchase orders to make sure they comply with specifications.

Tasks & Accountabilities:-

  • Optimise ordering parameters (batch size, reorder point, safety stock/safety time) based on influencing factors (demand fluctuation, delivery performance D1, quality performance R1, economic order quantity).
  • Oversee reordering activities following rejection, scrap, or damage
  • Maintain and oversee delivery projections and the "line of balance" by communicating with suppliers on a regular basis.
  • Use KPIs and process performance metrics (KPIs for ordering, missing components, D1, stock, and VMI level of service) to monitor the process.
  • Make sure that all internal customers receive clear and frequent updates, and that the escalation procedure is started as soon as necessary to prevent effects from building from delayed supplies.
  • Take part in supplier performance evaluations and if necessary, give the supplier performance criticism.
  • Track down and assist with debugging delivery problems, goods receipts, administrative and technical quality notices, and bills.
  • Examine MRP and External Supply
